General > Free Estate Bookmarks

If you are interested in the bookmarks we received for distribution from the English estate, post a reply here. Let us know the materials and type that you are interested in. We may ask for postage costs, depending on the weight, etc.

I'm interested in anything "old," especially if it's advertising or girlie related (bonus points if it's both!) But, as I'm a scavenging hoarder, I'll happily take anything ;)

I live in Fargo, ND, USA if that matters ;)

I am interested in old bookmarks too, but if is not possible any bookmark is good for me (even damaged, I like them very much).

I am from Spain. My email address is losamhara@hotmail.com. I would be very grateful to you if you could send me the information about the shipping cost.

Thank you very much! :D

Best wishes,

Natalia

I'm also interested in receiving some of the old bookmarks, especially die cut advertising. Will you email us for our addresses or shall we post here?

February 20, 2010 | Registered CommenterLois Densky-Wolff

I'm interested in older bookmarks advertising books, publishers or writers. I'm willing to exchange or buy items, and of course I'd like a bunch of the English bookmarks - especially older ones, say before 1970.

Deanna, I have some bookmarks of my own I think you'd love. They advertise book fairs in England, and they are not what I would term family friendly. One shows a naked woman taking off her panties from the back side. With the exception of a pair of red heels she is naked. It reads, "Come to the Leeds Book Fair and have me between the covers." Hilarious.

Another shows a woman in garter and fish net stockings, a bra and not much else. She is on her hands and knees and is kissing a teddy bear. It's also for a book fair.

Whoever said the British were staid!

As for these bookmarks I am happy to send them out after this ends. I'm taking note of what everyone wants. I don't think there are any "old" ones, and by that I mean early twentieth century or earlier, though there are really nice ones. Leather, children's, places, a good number of religious ones, fabric, ones with tassels, Christmas, laminated, flowers, a few textile ones. Laine, there's actually one with "Ludlow Book Mark" on it that shows somewhere in England. Maybe Sylvia can help us out.

So Lauren, I would be interested in any bookmark related to Christmas (is one of my favourite subjects), handmade ones and children oriented bookmarks. I don't know if it is possible, but I am looking for bookmarks about Proust, my favourite writer so if you find any bookmark about him I would appreciate if you could keep for me :D

But anyway, any bookmark is good for me :D.

Regards and thanks!

I'm interested in any of the leather , fabric ones or those with tassels. I will gladly pay the postage.

I love those with a dual purpose, e.g, with calendars, rulers, that are meant to be greeting cards or postcards, etc. Also die cut, anything related to art, cats, books.

Any bookmark earns attention, love, care. I've plenty of these qualities.....Even a recovery station for the disaibeled, bad treated ones.

Hello,

I´´m interessted mainly in paper bookmarks, with and without tassels. I love old bookmarks, lighthouse bookmarks and bookmarks of publishers, bookstores and museums.

Hi Lauren, Ludlow is the county town of Shropshire (last county before you go into Wales). It has a very ancient castle, built to keep the Welsh out in earlier days. Today it is known for the enormous number of high class restaurants and delicatessens - a real food town! I'm not putting in a request for any of the bookmarks, as I probably have better access to most of these than the other attendees, bu thanks anyway.

Anything to do with BOOKS! Art & Artists second. Happy to pay for postage.

If no one else wants the religious ones, I will give them a home. These have become the accidental part of my collection but I'm growing to appreciate them more. Also those about places in general.

February 21, 2010 | Registered CommenterLaine

Hi, everyone.

I will get to work separating these during the next week and get them in the mail. Thank you for the offer to reimburse. I accept. It's not necessary, however. I'll be contacting your for your mailing address as soon as I get them separated and into envelopes.

February 21, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLauren

I forgot to mention. Could all of you just email me your addresses? That would be easier for me. Send the email to: lauren [dot] roberts [at] bibliobuffet.com

Of course there are no spaces and replace the [dot] and [at] with the usual form.
Thanks!

Salve a tutti (Hi everybody),

I collect all paper bookmarks before 1960 regardless of the subject and of the country of origin (of course my collection has mainly Italian bookmarks...).

I would be happy to have some bookmarks from this estate! I especially love vintage ephemera (1890-1965) featuring ladies, children, animals, sailors, and holidays. Ribbons and other non-paper markers are also appreciated. Thanks! k.
