Buy Liberty Bonds
World War I sent a standard in the use of paper (posters, bookmarks, etc.) to exhort the American people to sacrifice their personal needs and wants in order to support their country in time of war. This bookmark encouraged people to remember their fathers, husbands, brothers, nephews, cousins in the trenches, and to buy bonds that helped to keep them going. Submitted by Lauren Roberts.

War Food Administration
During World War II, the government agency responsible for making sure enough food was reserved for the troops overseas took to using posters and bookmarks to encourage the American civilian populace to ration their own food. Stamps were required to buy food, and certain products were limited. This bookmark was designed to show everyone back home how they could meet their nutritional needs and still contribute to the war effort's need to reserve much of the food for overseas troops.
