Book lovers are usually known to be economical people and recycling enthusiasts. And they love their books with a passion. You know the saying: "So many books, so little time?"
So, for those of you who support recycling and want to find inexpensive gifts that serve more than one purpose, here's a nifty idea... A greeting card that perforates to become a bookmark! So throw away those crumpled receipts, old index cards, bologna slices, ripped up parking tickets, and get yourself (and all your friends) some real bookmarks. ...some IN MY BOOK® cards!
How the cards work:
|
USE THEM: as a new card to give with a rare book, as an invitation to a meeting, as a save-the-date card, as a place card that’s also a party favor, as a present with a gift certificate, as part of a giftbasket for a reader, as an invitation to a show…with tickets, as a card for your sweetheart or spouse, to acknowledge a promotion or a retirement, for mother’s day or father’s day or a special birthday, for a favorite teacher or professor, for a librarian, for a coach, mentor or counselor, for a traveler with a foreign dictionary, for a grandchild with cash or a check, for the members of the bookclub... so many ways to use IN MY BOOK®...the greeting card and bookmark in one!
Cards sell for $3.95 each, complete with envelope.
The selection:
IN MY BOOK® cards are printed on heavy-duty watercolor paper and feature wonderful drawings by book illustrator Meredith Hamilton. They are sold complete with a red envelope for mailing. The cards recycle from greeting card to bookmark (they perforate), and as such are a long-lasting reminder of the giver for friends, students, teachers, librarians, professors, authors, editors, publishers, colleagues, loved ones, co-workers, book group members, just about anybody! Fifteen styles begin with the greeting "In my book..." and conclude with such sentiments as "you're novel", "you're the last word" and "you're top shelf". The double-entendres (example: "in my book... you're in between the covers") is only one more example of one card doing two jobs.
The cards have been acclaimed in the press (Publishers Weekly calls them "sentimental greetings that make endearing gift enclosures") and by such stalwart library supporters as Sandy Dolnick (founder of FOLUSA), Blake Carver (founder of LISNews) and celebrity librarian/author Nancy Pearl.
